We don't buy from brokers. We fly to 14 farms across Ethiopia, Colombia, and Indonesia — tasting directly from the cherry. If it doesn't rattle our palate, it doesn't make the cut.

Our drum roasters run at precise 1°C increments. Each profile is a living document — adjusted with every harvest. We roast in batches of 12kg maximum. Not because we can't scale. Because we won't.

Founded in 2017 in a 200-square-foot warehouse with one drum roaster and one obsession: what does coffee taste like when nobody cuts corners?

Seven years later, we still roast in that same warehouse. We've added two more drums and a lab. The obsession hasn't changed. Grindstone & Ember exists because the best coffee in the world deserves to be on your counter — not behind a velvet rope.
